During the holiday periods throughout the year the Play Rangers work in partnership with local youth/arts/sports workers(Activ8) to provide a holiday scheme aimed at providing a service for all young people aged 5 – 16 to experience a wide range of services all at one venue, to promote community cohesion and to promote a more positive community attitude towards children/ young people.

The nature of the open access sessions gives children and young people an opportunity to let off steam, play outside and enable them to use the local parks and outdoor spaces within an inclusive framework. Active 8 is run by a mix of agencies who have a vested interest in the children/ young people within the central and east areas of the Bristol locality. The area has a very diverse community and the proposed activities are designed to be accessible to all young people in the area.

This Easters Activities Range from, Mini Olympic Games, Various Olympic themed Activities will take Place twice a week, alongside this we will also be promoting Healthy Eating Options I.E blind tasting (various exotic fruits), Eatwell plate and providing healthy cooking options and recipes for them to take home and try. dj workshops/easter egg hunts/ various arts/ crafts, including t shirt painting/bracelet making, planting seeds and decorating pots,making seed bombs. Weather/staff dependent we may also have water fights/slip n slides as well as tree climbing activities/ zip wire/slac line, making large forts (woodwork activity) bottle rockets/stomp rockets.

majority of activities have come from consultation with the children/ young people although some have been adapted from there ideas some of which were around food, eating/ cooking various things/ making things/ drawing/ fighting,hand gliding/climbing/swinging/building rockets/ building houses, well castles!! mud slides, going on trips and many more.
